Promoting awareness of the potential benefits of digital processes in public administration

The digital transformation is also changing day-to-day work in public administrations. This requires a great deal of flexibility on the part of those concerned and an understanding of new technologies, especially during transformation processes. It is therefore important to strengthen digitalisation awareness within the administration in a targeted manner.

Administration members must be aware of the potential of digitalisation

An awareness of digitalisation within the administration is important in order for eGovernment projects to be supported internally. Consequently, public administration managers and employees should have access to targeted continuing professional development programmes to strengthen their knowledge of digitalisation and eGovernment. Ultimately, this can boost interest and trust in digital processes within the administration.

As part of this project, eGovernment Switzerland commissioned surveys to be conducted among digitalisation experts, managers and project leaders in the administration in 2021. Based on the report and its recommendations, further steps will be taken from 2022 onwards to promote the potential benefits.

Implementation plan objective 20/21

Promoting awareness of the potential benefits of digital processes in public administration

«The aim is to provide knowledge of digitalisation and eGovernment to public administration managers and employees in a targeted manner in continuing professional development courses or other formats, thereby strengthening confidence in digital administration.»
